As yoga teaching has developed in various new and exciting ways over time, I've decided to move my teaching online for now.
While I love my group classes, the current climate has created a very different environment for our practice.
Your mat is your safe space to explore your body and mind and to do this, you need to be able to take your focus inwards to fully experience your practice. I feel this can be done safely from your own happy space, be it your bed room or summer garden.
Find a corner in your home where you can lay down a mat, light a scented candle and create that happy space. ( I live in a van and have found that you don't really require much to do so ). De clutter it, dedicate some time for yourself in this space and before you know it you will have created a little sanctuary for yourself.
There is undoubtedly a beautiful energy that we build and expand during our practice and this energy radiates from our hearts to our surroundings. So not only will you benefit from this but so will your home. Now that can't be a bad thing, can it?
I understand that it can be quite challenging to "get into the zone" at home sometimes. There are always 10,000 other things to get done or everything we’ve been putting off has suddenly become quite urgent. But this is also a big part of your practice in itself.
Learning to prioritise your needs and to give yourself the same love and kindness we so often give freely to others, is one of the most important lessons our yoga practice can help with. Now is the perfect time. So find a space, grab yourselves a mat and let's begin.
